Star Gardens 2025 Rose List
Due to our deer and gopher issues, roses do not sell as well here as in other locations. Our summer heat takes it toll, often burning the petals the moment they open. On the plus side our drier climate means rose diseases are not a big problem and other than the spring flush of aphids, insects are not either. The shrub itself holds up quite well as long as they are given enough water on hot days. They bloom beautifully in the spring and even better in the fall all the way into November. We did not order from Star Roses this year as I can get the popular Drift Rose through another supplier, potted and rooted later in the spring. The same goes for David Austin Roses. The bare root roses from Weeks should be here by Feb 1st or so and will be available bare root for a couple of weeks. We have to put them in pots as they break dormancy and before we get too busy with other things in the spring.
